ANNOUNCEMENT

The Birthing Tree is pleased to announce our Doula Mentoring Program.  We now offer doulas seeking certification a program of referrals, guidance, education and support.  This program sprang forth from our recognition of two needs:  intern doulas wanting mentorship during their process of becoming certified; and to be able to offer quality doula services to birthing women and their partners needing financial consideration.

Sharon Laurie directs the Mentoring Program drawing on her many years of experience as a doula. Sharon supports and mentors interns through their prenatal visits, labor and birth support experiences, and postpartum home visits and is available for questions and assistance throughout. All of the Birthing Tree doulas offer knowledge, support, and community to the interns.  This is also a wonderful opportunity for laboring women to have the support and advocacy of a doula-in-training backed by Sharon's experience and wisdom.  We are very excited about this program and the response has been enthusiastic and welcoming. We look forward to seeing the program grow in 2008 so that more women receive doula support and intern doulas can receive the mentoring they deserve to become the very best doulas available. Check our website for more information about the Mentoring Program.
