Santa Fe Doula Services:

Doula care is an extraordinary support service offered to women and their partners during one of the most profound experiences of their lives: birthing their babies. The Birthing Tree Cooperative is a group of certified, experienced doulas trained to provide physical and emotional support during pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum. We offer three packages and services to best meet your needs. Feel free to ask for exactly the combination of services and support you’re looking for. Doula Services Include:

Prenatal Consultation:
Establish a working relationship and clear communication about your birth preferences, write a birth plan, and review information and techniques from birthing classes. Your doula can help address your fears and concerns and identify how to truly establish a safe and loving space in which to labor and give birth.

Continuous Support Throughout Labor:
Your experienced doula is on call to be with you during labor. She offers suggestions for labor progress, relaxation and pain coping and will be with you as an experienced guide and advocate as the process unfolds in your home and at the hospital until you birth your baby.

Postpartum Home Support:
Receive help and support integrating your birth experience with your new life as a parent. Your doula can offer information and nurturing while you are getting to know your baby, breastfeeding and recovering from childbirth. Please see our extended postpartum home care services, which continue during the first year of parenting.

Intern Doula Services
Doula support services from a student doula who is participating in our Mentorship Program. Under supervision from an experienced mentor doula, a student doula offers prenatal consultation, labor support and postpartum home support. $100

Doula Support Packages

Limited Doula Services:
These services include one prenatal consultation and continuous labor support at home and in the hospital. $375 plus tax.

Complete Doula Services:
These services include labor support at home and in the hospital as well as 10 additional hours of consultation and support. These hours may be used for childbirth preparation and/or postpartum support (breastfeeding, infant care, mom’s recovery, etc.). You arrange with your doula how these hours will be spent. $525 plus tax.

Extended Support Doula Package:
This package takes the Complete Doula Services (see above) and continues your postpartum support for an additional 20 hours. This time can be scheduled as you wish, usually two visits a week for five weeks. Your postpartum support can be cooking, light housework, childcare, emotional support, breastfeeding support, discussing parenting concerns and/ or anything that would help Mom, baby and family feel nurtured and cared for in this postpartum time (see In Home Postpartum Care). $825 plus tax.

In Home Postpartum Support for Santa Fe Families:

Pregnancy, birth and parenthood are one of the most exciting and transformational times of our lives. The challenges of integrating a new baby into your family may raise many questions and concerns. The Birthing Tree offers in home postpartum services to help you through these precious and vulnerable weeks and months of postpartum adjustment.

Our goal is to assist you in acquiring skills needed to care for your infant and in finding balance in your life as a parent. Our Certified Postpartum Doulas are sensitive to your needs as a family and will help your new family with support and guidance through this wonderful transition. Skilled at newborn care and trained in breast feeding support, your Doula is a reliable resource for your postpartum needs.

A Postpartum Doula can be especially helpful:

• after a long labor or Ceasarean birth
• with multiples
• to help with successful initiation of breast feeding
• when you have other young children
• when your partner must return to work

Postpartum support is available from birth to 6 months, and can be customized to include the unique support and nurturing you need. We offer in home care that can include any or all of the following: breastfeeding support, emotional support, cooking, infant care, resources for everything from pump rentals to local yoga studios, parenting concerns, and light housecleaning.
